EXPERIENCE

 

n  Serving as Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Immunology and Microbiology of National Institute of Kidney Diseases & Urology (NIKDU), Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka- 1207, Bangladesh since March 01, 2008.

NIKDU is a Postgraduate Teaching Institute with specialized Hospital. It is providing medical and surgical care for Patients with diseases of kidney and urogenital tract. The Institute is running MD (Nephrology), MD (Paediatric Nephrology) and MS (Urology) courses under University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Part I of these courses includes ‘Microbiology and Immunology’ and Part II of these courses includes ‘Applied Immunology’. Responsibilities in this institute include Teaching these postgraduate students; Supervising & routine reporting in the Clinical Immunology & Microbiology Laboratory; Carrying out researches & assisting students to accomplish their thesis.

  Served as Lecturer (September 07, 2006 to January 18, 2007) and Assistant Professor (January 18, 2007 to February 28, 2008) in the Department of Microbiology of Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College (SOMC), Sylhet, Bangladesh

Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College is a GMC recognized Medical College of Bangladesh running undergraduate (MBBS) course and 19 postgraduate courses (MD, MS and MPhil) in different disciplines under Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh. Responsibilities in this Medical College include Teaching undergraduate & post-graduate students Microbiology and Immunology; Conducting undergraduate examinations and helping in conduction of post-graduate examinations; Assisting post-graduate students to design and carry out research works for their thesis; Running different research projects; Supervising and routine reporting of Microbiological and Immunological tests; Training post-graduate students for reporting and other laboratory staff for safe and standard practice of sample collection & processing, Conducting seminars on various topics related to Microbiology;  Organizing the activities of the Bangladesh National Cadet Core (BNCC), SOMC Platoon as the teacher in charge. Also periodic inspection of different Diagnostic laboratories, Hospitals and Clinics of the Sylhet Metropolitan City and Sylhet Division to assure quality control service, infection control measures and renewal of license as an expert member in the vigilance teams of Divisional Director of Health Services (Sylhet Division) and Civil Surgeon (Sylhet).

 

n  Served as Medical Officer in Upazila Health Complex, Beani Bazar, Sylhet, Bangladesh from July 02, 2005 to September 06, 2006.

Beani Bazar UHC was the place where I was first posted after joining the government service. Responsibilities include Providing outdoor, indoor and emergency health care services to the poor people; Supervising and carrying out other health related activities (Immunization, Health education etc.) of the government in that Upazila; Periodic epidemiological reporting about communicable diseases and other diseases of public health importance to the superior authority as medical officer disease control (MO DC).

 

n  Served as Lecturer in the Department of Microbiology of Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College (JRRMC), Sylhet, Bangladesh from June 12, 2002 to July 15, 2003.

JRRMC is a leading Private Medical College in Bangladesh running MBBS course under Shahjalal University of Science & Technology, Sylhet,. Phase II (3rd and 4th year) of MBBS course includes Microbiology. Immunology is taught as a part of Microbiology,. Responsibilities in this Medical College include teaching 3rd and 4th year MBBS students Microbiology and Immunology.
